  • VICTORY in Jesus :) hehe. I have CONQUERED my finals!

Let me just say....i only have ONE more final left! lol!

Man, this year has been the toughest year of my life...and i'm not just saying that to be dramatic.  This last year, and my year on furlough when i was 15 have been the hardest years of my life.

Alot of victories, but alot of pain and hurt.  What do i see when i look back on my sophmore year?  Well, alot of change that hurt, the loss of friendships and feeling abandoned.  But, then i look closer and see friendships that came around that i would have never known to asked for, or have known i needed.

My friend Claire for example.  I met her because we were in summer classes last year...i would have never gotten to know her if friends had stayed the same in my life.  Or Mary.  I would have never taken the time to eat lunch with her if i was still surrounded  by best friends.  Mike, Clint and Dave...probably wouldn't have hung out with them if my "other" friends had been there.  Yes, it's immature to not hang out with some people because your normal group of influencers wouldn't, but that was me unfortunately.

So...this year hurt real bad, but i would have never have met the people i'll probably know for a really long time if things weren't ripped away.  And...it was really great to see other friends grow into the people God created them to be.

Discomfort causes this weird thing to occur . . . trust that God will actually take care of your needs.

As for Phil...my life will never be the same.  We don't have to have life figured out to show God's glory.  He shows his glory in the confusion and mess of our lives.  Thank you.

  • Italy Update

     March 30, 2007
    Dear Friends and Family,

It has been awhile!  My apologies for not being in contact these past months.  College has been crazy.

I wanted to update everyone on how my Ninedays Italy mission’s trip went.  Firstly, God is incredible and completely blows me away with His faithfulness!  I was able to raise all the money needed, and then some extra for this trip.  Thanks to all of you, my whole team was able to go on the trip, and we even had extra money to leave with the Missionaries Steve & Patti.  Thank you thank you thank you!

We arrived in Padova Italy on Saturday, March 3rd.  Straight from the Airport we were taken to a hostel in an incredible little town, where we helped do a young adults retreat for the students in Steve and Patti’s church.  This lasted until Sunday night, and ended in a fabulous game of charades at 1am.  We were able to build relationships with these university students the first couple of days, and then worked with them for the rest of the week.
Monday morning we went to a hostel in the city of Padova where we stayed for the rest of the week.  We walked approximately 3-4 miles a day from the church to the hostel, and then another 5-7 miles a day to the gates around the city for prayer.  Our feet were definitely in shape when we left! J  Through the week, we were able to dance (we had a hip/hop dance prepared) in the plazas and do some street witnessing.  Let me just say, I’ve never been so stretched in my entire life!  I was one of the leaders on this trip, so if I didn’t do something, no way would I expect my team to do it.  So in my feeling of discomfort we went up to random people and just started chatting and getting to know people.  We would invite them to an “American Party” we put together for Friday.  We just hung out with complete strangers…it was incredible!
At the party of Friday and Saturday, we made sure they heard about Jesus.  After all, that’s why we were there.  We had food and games and had an amazing time getting to know people from Russia, Albania, Padova, and Romania.  We learned how to dance Albanian style too…it was so fun!  On Saturday, a couple people from the team shared their testimonies, and songs.  I faced my fear, grabbed the guitar, and sang a song too.  It was burning inside me, and I had to get it out.  It was one of the few times that I sang and didn’t hold back.  God was so real in that place.
Lastly, we had a day to go to Venice…but turned it down….NOT!!!  WE went and had so much fun!  We ate and gondola-ed, and shopped and got really tired…hehe!  It was cool because my parents came for a couple days, so they were able to go to Venice with the team too.
When I was 13, God promised me I would go to Italy…never would I have dreamed to go, and not just that, have my parents and a best friend with me!  God is incredible.

There’s my update.  Again, I am so sorry for taking so long to get this email out.  I love you all and thank you again for believing in me and helping me go.  I pray the bless you and that his hand would guide you!

    Thank you, thank you! J
    Love,
    -Hannah-

    Hello everyone!    March 1, 2007

I wanted to write a quick note to you before I leave tomorrow for ITALY!  Yip, my team and I are leaving tomorrow, Friday March 2nd.  I can't believe it!  The Lord is so faithful!  All my money came in, and MORE, so our team is fully covered.  Thank you Jesus.

While we're in Italy, we will be working with university students.  We arrive on Saturday, and for 2 days are doing a retreat for the college people at the church we're working with.  Then we will be doing some outreach at the university in the city, and prayer walking.  I am so excited.  Our team has put together an incredible hip-hop dance to LaCrae, and so we'll be "breaking it down" on the streets of Podova Italy!  WOOHOO! :)

Thank you all for your prayer support and financial support!  Thank you for being obediant and praying for me and giving towards my trip.

I'll send out an update when I get back to America and settled back in,
    God Bless,
    -Hannah-
